girls like you My First Tarpon - The Movie

It was 4-29-2014 and I took a friend out for a bit of offshore fishing heading out of Government cut in Miami Beach Florida. We fished for a bit in open seas and the waves were too much for my friend to handle so we decided to head back. Once we got to the inlet where there were the water was calm she was fine so I made the decision to fish the area for a bit since it was sunset, there are huge tarpon in the area and I had a few lively google eyes left in the bait tank. I tossed out a few baits and they got bit by barracuda and what ever else was down there. I have the last two goggle eyes out the back of the boat free lined and bridled.

I got the bite I was looking for. A huge tarpon that made himself known right off the bat leaping into the air coming completely out of the water twice. This was a 33 minute battle and this fish ran for miles up and down Government Cut during sunset. It was incredible and words don’t do it justice so watch the film.

I was using a Shimano Thunnus CI4 12000 with a Shimano Tallus Blue Water Spinning Rod 50-100 Heavy Fast, 20 LB Test Momoi fishing line with Seaguar 50 LB Test Fluorocarbon Leader around 15 feet with an Owner #6 J hook. The boat is a Triton 225.
